It was a Saturday on the 14th of February in 2009, with that year as the 14th annual event! For me it was the perfect date and year to really celebrate Valentine's day at the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF) in Clark, Pampanga.

It was a weekend of everything that (artificially) flies. To summarize this whole day event, there were of course hot air balloons, para-gliders, skydivers, aviation exhibitionists, flying marriage proposals, and big-time kites. There were also drifting exhibitionists, pet dogs, food stalls, aviation/navy/military exhibits, etc.

If there's one thing that is very important in witnessing a hot air balloon event, it's the need to be at the venue by 5 am in the morning. This was one thing that Pol and I failed to do, as we had arrived at the complex at about 7am, where the enormous balloons were not much up close to your face anymore. The balloons were already too small once they had flown.
I am hoping to really completely witness this event again with my husband and my Baby P!
